About World Children's Fund

World Children's Fund is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to helping children worldwide who are suffering the effects of poverty, disease, natural disaster, famine, abuse, civil strife and war. The heart and soul of World Children's Fund is YOU. Through the generosity of our partners and donors, we are making a difference. Together, we are changing the lives of the world's impoverished and suffering children.

World Children’s Fund is celebrating its 20th year as a charitable organization in the United Kingdom. As we reflect on twenty years of humanitarian service around the globe, one thing is very clear. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Basic Needs: Each year an estimated 15 million children die of hunger. World Children's Fund is on the front line of the fight against hunger. In the Horn of Africa, hunger is stalking millions of people. More than a third of all children in the region are now facing emergency levels of malnutrition. We fight hunger worldwide with both emergency food aid, on-going feeding programmes in slums and schools that serve impoverished children. In addition to food relief, WCF also meets basic needs by providing suffering children with clothing, shelter, school supplies & medical relief.

World Children's Fund partners with indigenous charitable Programmes. We mobilise our resources and deliver humanitarian relief by working with local people and projects around the world. These partnerships generate synergy and promote economic efficiency.

World Children's Fund founder and president, Joseph Lam, is a dedicated humanitarian. He was born in the British Crown Colony of Hong Kong in 1958. His mother, Nora Lam, was a missionary speaker whose life story was made into the major motion picture CHINA CRY.
